Drove my sister and boy up to Edmond for the Edmond Turkey trot..we got there bright and early to sign up. I really enjoyed the fact that they didn't gouge prices up for a family event..20 bucks was a decent price for race day.

We had a nice crew representing OK  RUNNER today. Eric and I were 1&2.

We took off and a kid that runs for St Greg's Univerity jumped out pretty quick and Eric, myself and a couple of coyotes were with us.. going though the first half Eric  through in a couple of good surges to see who was for real.. My plan was to ride behind the bigger kid and or the bigger coyote going into the wind. I would guess the wind to be 15-20 out of the south.

At the turn around I hopped right behind the kid and Eric was behind the coyote going up the lone hill into the wind. As we topped the hill i noticed the kid falling off pace and Eric surged real good at the top and I hopped in behind the coyote. Eric seemed to make a move to take the lead for good and he did.

I ran with the coyote for maybe a 1/4 mile and he fell off pace then i tried to catch Eric but fell short of cutting the gap he built. Ran the remainder of the race into a good headwind and was about 5 sec behind my good friend and training partner Eric.. I was good with OK Runner going 1-2. J-hat, Roger and Blake all placed well in their ag and my sister did fairly well too. Was really happy to have my son out at least doing the course as a walk- run. Maybe it will lead to something more in the future..

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Turkey and Pie time.

Hey BB,

I ran the Half last year but am struggling through this foot surgery issue and haven't been able to run consistently. I did run a half two weeks ago but it was difficult. Its been 8 months now and the doctor says to give it 3-4 months to heal before we consider any other options. It stays swollen up and very painful after I run any distance. I wish I were ready to run the R&R, I was actually hoping to be ready for a full by now.

Hope you do well at the R&R. Looks like you will have great weather! It was brutally hot last year. I assume you're running the full?
