Race morning Jake, Ean, Katie, Jennifer and myself headed out from Jakes place. We were planning on Starbucks but they were closed, so we slid into a gas station and i got a cup of coffee (Black) and a Blueberry muffin.

We got downtown about 1hr before the gun. Jake and I started shufflin a bit and hit the port. Weather was close to perfect.

We lined up and I saw a few familiar faces from OK and what seemed to be a really big 1/2 field.

My plan was to go out in low 6's and try pick it up on the back half.  I was running in 5th place through mile 19 then started picking off a few runners.

About mile  17 I  saw Jake out front with nobody in sight. I gave him a Yee Yee shout and kept watching for 2nd place. When I got just past 18 marker I saw 2 dudes running together about a mile ahead of me and the dude that was just ahead of me was slowly coming back and i caught and passed him somewhere around mile 20.

When I got around 3rd place dude I realized I was in the money and 2 place dude was coming back really quick.  I kept thinking how cool it would be if Jake and I went 1-2.. When I got down to the finish line I was so crazy excited. I saw Jake with an American flag draped on him being interviewed. Jake won easily with a 2:29:04 and I ran a 2:38:17 new PR

Jake and I hung out at the VIP tent waiting for Ean and Katie / Jennifer

Ean ended up puking about 100m from the finish line and ended up running a 3:16:17

Had a wonderful weekend with some great friends. So Blessed.

Miles are paying off.

Well done, Jason. That's a nice PR in that range. I sneaked a peak at some of the results from this race before they were posted here and judging by the segments splits you ran really consistently.

Those of us that know the level of effort you put in behind those numbers on the mileage board...this was a well deserved marathon race and PR time! You continue to show your amazing ability & I predict the best is still ahead! Congrats!!
