We had a nice crew meet up at N OKC and convoyed up to T town for some 15k  fun this great day.  I rode with Roger, Courtney and Geoffrey. We got up there and ran over to the bus stop to hit the restroom before getting our packets.  I thought we were going to have a homeless rumble throw down in there when Geoffrey opened up a stall with some homeless dude doing his thing...right after that some other dude did the same thing and things got really loud and we got outta there. ha

We went over to packet pick-up and i ran into Scott Smith and Brett Gotcher hanging out. Got my packet and snapped a few shots with them and the crew.

After that we went back and put on our racing suits and got warmed up. It didn't seem to take too long with weather conditions at record highs today to get warmed up.

We got back and started right on time..the master race started 10 min before the open. (wish they would just start it all at 1 time) We tore out and I could tell by the first 1/2 mile that these were not PR conditions. The dude that came out from Oregon was in another class and clearly was the cream of the crop. Greg Mitchell put on a running display.

It was too bad for me he was in my age group. Ran some with 2 dudes one from PA and the other from CO they were back and forth the whole way and I kept them in site for the  race.  Made a little ground on them towards the end on the last 2k of hills. (not enough to matter)

We took 2nd place team money and I was the top OK master. Was really proud of my team mates (Roger/Jason/myself on team).

Team OK runner had a overall victory in the open race from Johnny Crain a new runner in OK and a assistant coach at OU. He edged out Brett Gotcher by 6 sec. Scott Smith took 5th place money and Geoffrey close to him.

I hate sounding negative but the Tulsa Run of old was a much better organized race. Some small but irritating things I noticed this year at one of the longest run races in OK were. Water was the only thing offered to drink and they ran out of that. 5k timing mat was on the wrong side of the road. The awards was a crazy mess in which the overall open winners got zero recognition. The candy bars of old days were still gone. The course a lot harder.

I would really be surprised if the out of town masters will continue to come.
