Took a trip up to T town with Blake,Jason& Roger for a 10k race in mohawk park and finishing inside the Tulsa zoo. We met in n okc and jason drove us up bright and early. When we got to mohawk park we were in a nice line of traffic and i had to hop out early and relieve some butler black that was making me see yellow.

This was a pretty big local race and the energy and super nice weather had feeling good. I knew that days like this dont come too often.

We took out of j hats car with about 30 min till gun time. Got in out stretches and followed the 5k ers around the park. By the time we got back around to the start line we had about 2 min but blake and jason were not back yet. I told the lady at the start that i had 2 friends coming up the road but she said she was starting on time and wasnt waiting.... Luckily they barely made it.

when the gun went off i tore out and felt really good. I had 2 motorcycle cops leading me around.

I forgot my sunglasses and really could have used them. The road had a lot of cracks and uneven surfaces.

my 5k split on my watch was 16:34 and i took a quick glance back to see if anybody came with me. Nobody did. I ran into a lot of lap traffic at 7k - 8k and went through 8k at 26:40 then about 9 k i hit the 5k walkers and was right @ 30 min with a k to go and had a small hill to go up.. I glanced at my pace when i topped the hill and saw 5:30 pace but knew i had about a 1/2 k to go with some down hill. The cops peeled off and pointed me to the finish line. When i crossed i saw 1:xx:xx and stopped mu watch at 33:54 and knew i had ran my fastest 10k to date..

had a great time with some great friends... We all had our best 10k times..except for blake who hasnt been able to train as much. But he did meet his t run goal to get in the up front corral.

i won a nice new balance bag with a lot of goodies inside it. Have several more races planned for the month.
